Resources

Want to be half-assed too? Getting started can be the hardest part. Here is a list of resources to help you on your own weight-loss journey. Also check out the store for a list of cookbooks, DVDs, scales and other products that I recommend and personally use.

SparkPeople
SparkPeople is a free service which lets you track your meals and exercise. It also has forums and articles. It’s a great source of information and tools to live a healthy lifestyle. Did I mention that it’s free?

Map My Run
Use this site to calculate how far you are walking, running, or unicycling outside. It also displays elevation and lets you save your favorite routes.

Kalyn’s Kitchen
Kalyn’s site contains more healthy recipes than any cookbook I own, and it’s updated frequently. Check out her site for pretty pictures of yummy foods and great ideas on how to start eating healthy without wanting to cut out your tongue.

Couch to 5K
If you are interested in running, but your feet are more used to the footstool than the footpath, consider trying the Couch to 5K program. It is a training program that intersperses walking and running over 9 weeks until you can run a 5K.

Fat Fighter Blogs
The most comprehensive directory of weight-loss blogs on the Internet. Browse around here to find blogs written by men and women fighting fat and learning to live healthy.

WordPress
Start your own blog for free! WordPress is one of the best blogging software programs. You can start a free blog of your own without any technical knowhow at wordpress.com.

3 Fat Chicks on a Diet
Great site with an active forum community where you can meet people, get support, ask questions and maybe get some answers.

Runner’s World
Look here for just about any information you need about running. They also offer a free training log that I use to track my running mileage and tells me when I need to buy new shoes.
